| Project Description: |
Barzman National LLC has a remote drinking water bottling facility 3 hours outside the capital city of Muscat, Oman. The site is located in the middle of the desert area and on a natural aquifer from where around 100m3/day of water is pumped from boreholes up to the bottling facility. Around 40 employees work at the facility, with a number of them residing on the same compound. With temperatures ranging between 35 and 45 deg C for most of the year, and with up to 11 long dry months, the reuse of wastewater to irrigate the crops and vegetation in the compound was felt necessary. FM Environmental supplied a below ground wastewater treatment plant, complete with tertiary filtration and chlorination, and duty–standby equipment to treat up to 10m3/day of effluent to 10/10 standards.
