| GRIT & GREASE REMOVAL |
Grit and Grease Removal Equipment The Navajo Forced Vortex Grit Removal System automatically removes grit from screened sewage. Grit settles in a circular basin from where it is pumped using a submersible grit pump. A paddle in the basin, rotating at between 20 and 30 rpm, creates the necessary conditions for the settlement of the grit. Periodically, a timer-controlled blower fluidises the collected grit before it is pumped to a grit classifier.

Fats Oils & Grease Removal Fats, Oils & Grease (FOG) removal equipment can be installed after screening on most major sewage treatment plants. Inclined 'beach' type systems operate with air-injection methods to float and draw off free floating fats, oils and greases. FOG removal systems can be installed in the same channel as horizontal type grit removal equipment. |
Grease Guardian Automatic Grease Removal Unit Traps and Removes Grease, Fats and Oils.
Stage 1 - Solids Collection Waste water from the kitchen is directed through the inlet of the Grease Guardian® where a removable strainer basket collects any solid debris.
Stage 2 - Grease and Oil Separation Grease in the waste water floats to the surface and is trapped while the clear water leaves the unit and enters the drainage system.
Stage 3 - Self Cleaning and Grease Removal The timer-driven heating element is activated to liquefy grease, which is then removed by the skimming wheel and deposited into a portable container for recycling.
